What we look at as regular houses and apartments are homes for others so therefore it is important that these buildings are given particular care and attention when it comes to carrying out works. We pay extra attention to keeping energy bills as low as possible in homes but also not cutting back on essentials such as emergency lighting in residential complexes or life detection systems in homes such as CCTV and fire detection systems. Being Building Services Consultants gives us the advantage of the engineering knowledge required to achieve maximum savings not evident to the householder. Green Energy Solutions have been involved in domestic applications where we achieved a reduction in utility energy costs through changing tariff structure and utility suppliers, re-commissioning of gas and heat pump installations, identifying and resolving installation and maintenance issues and adjusting the building heating pool and spa plant operation. At the heart of Carlow town, with a view of Carlow town park and the river Barrow, Riverdell apartments were developed for young professionals and couples. The development has 60 fully furbished apartments, with retail space at ground level which is currently occupied by one of Carlow’s favourite resturants and other smaller retail units.
GES provided Mechanical and Electrical works to these 60 apartments and the below retail units. A very detailed lighting plan was drawn up for the building including the installation of ground lighting within the steps leading up to the retail units, lighting under the canopy at roof level and much more. External lighting to the surrounding pedestrian area and car park was also included in NLCEs drawings.
London’s Kensington Palace Gardens is the most expensive address in the UK. This apartment complex based very close to some of the U.K’s wealthiest home owners is complete luxury. The entrance hall has a vibrant marble floor, giving the building a sophisticated look and the surrounding gardens bring an element of calm to what is a busy business area.
Green Energy Solutions together with sister company Pivotal International were hired to deliver a provision of MEP services to these apartments. Incorporated was a technical heating system, taking into account the apartments, common areas and reception area. A similar cooling and ventilation system was implemented throughout the building.
In terms of lighting, GES designed a lighting plan for the building, incorporating a combination of ceiling hung and wall mounted lighting. Fire detection systems were too installed. These well lit spaces, combined with white interior walls created a bright and airy space for residents.
