Design & New Builds

Green Energy Solution together with sister company Noel Lawler Consulting Engineers have been successfully delivering buildings at a design and build capacity for a number of years now. Some of the largest contractors in the U.K and Ireland have used our services to deliver Prisons, Healthcare, Schools and Retail projects. We work closely to ensure most economic solutions are developed without compromising clients brief. Our construction team understand implicitly the challenges faced in the delivery of projects to tight deadlines and through many years now of being imbedded in ‘Design and Build’ contracts, they continuously deliver.

Midlands Prison, Portlaoise

The Midland’s Prison Portlaoise required an extension for which we won the Design and Build Contract. Together with Laing O’ Rourke, we designed Block C of the Prison, taking into account the connecting power supplies. This extension catered for approximatly 145 inmates and was valued at €26 million.
In addition to design, the team also committed to providing Mechanical and Electrical Services to the building including the installation of a Building Management System, a day lighting design package, a water treatment system and heat recovery system.  Although this may have made the initial capital investment higher, energy bills were reduced through monitoring of the BMS, therefore costing less to run on a continuous basis.

Tesla, Masthead

Noel Lawler Consulting Engineers were involved in the Design and Build of the Tesla site at Masthead. Noel Lawler’s and sister company Pivotal International carried out works on this site in conjunction with BSPS Ltd.
Having worked on the design of many show rooms and offices in the past, this retail space incorporated some new elements including an interactive area where customers could customize their cars. The project took 9 weeks to complete from initial design to handover and close out.
A number of areas required special attention including the office spaces, many of which had no windows and had a glass wall looking out onto the showroom. These spaces were heavily ventilated and included an air coditioning system to avoid overheating.
The show rooms are long and wide, therefore ceiling hung lighting had to incorporated into designs. These lights gave a gleaming finish to the cars and therefore improved the overall look of the site.

Primary Care Centres

This Carrick-On-Suir Primary Care Centre is just one of five that we won the Design and Build contract for in 2016. Our healthcare team have been kept busy in the development of these projects. Working in conjunction with Balfour Beatty, these Primary Care Centres are large in scale and will be developed on town centre sites.
Kilcock Primary Care Centre is already well into it’s construction stage. It is due to be finished in late 2017.  The other four sites in which NLCE were successful in securing were: Dungarvan, Waterford City, Carrick-On-Suir and Wexford Town.
The development of these sites will reduce the numbers having to go to a hospital for appointments and take a large amount of pressure off of already stretched hospital services. Also included in these buildings will be regular GP offices.
